Vice-Principal
Employer: St. Anthony High School
Description: St. Anthony High School is an Archdiocesan, co-educational high school located in downtown Long Beach, CA. The school was founded in 1920 by the parish of St. Anthony and the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart, joined by the Brothers of Holy Cross in 1941. Recently St. Anthony High School has seen a significant increase in enrollment. The current enrollment is 305 students with projected enrollment of 375 in Fall 2010. The school is located approximately twenty-five miles south-east from downtown Los Angeles. Position Description: At St. Anthony High School, the vice-principal shares in the educational and administrative leadership of the school and is responsible for performing duties as assigned by the principal. The vice-principal supports the principal in the school’s educational programs in accord with the school’s Catholic identity, philosophy, and vision. The vice-principal works with the principal, president, and other community leaders in promoting the school philosophy and mission and helping to develop a corresponding school climate. The vice-principal reports directly to the principal.
Requirements: General Responsibilities: Manage areas of curriculum, academics, faculty, inclusion program, government programs. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledgeable and practicing Catholic, understanding of Catholic School philosophy, Master’s Degree OR California Teaching Credential. Preferred Qualifications (in addition to above): Master’s Degree AND California Teaching Credential, completion of 3 years of successful administrative experience in a Catholic High School. Desirable Characteristics: Collaborative leadership style with good interpersonal and team-building skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, a passion for students, faculty and parents, willingness to be part of the leadership team for a growing high school.
